Job Purpose:

To perform routine testing functions in the blood bank including but not limited to, compatibility, postnatal and preliminary transfusion reaction investigations

Minimum Education:

Trainee Technician:

• Grade 12 with Mathematics and one other Science subject and/or Laboratory/Assistant Learnership

Trainee Technologist:

• Diploma in Biomedical Technology

Qualified Technician:

• HPCSA Registered Medical Technician (Blood Transfusion)

Qualified Technologist:

• HPCSA Registered Medical Technician (Blood Transfusion)

Minimum Experience:

Qualified Technician:

• Experience as required for HPCSA registration as Medical Technologist (Blood Transfusion)

Qualified Technologist:

• Experience as required for HPCSA registration as Medical Technologist (Blood Transfusion)

Minimum Skills/Knowledge:

As per Minimum Education and Experience.

• Computer Literacy in MS Word, Excel and Outlook
