Minimum requirements:

Inherent requirement of the job:

  • The ability to lift and move heavy equipment and supplies.

Competencies (knowledge/skills):

  • Excellent verbal communication skills in at least two of the three official languages of the Western Cape.

Duties (key result areas/outputs):

  • Provide a clean environment to prevent the spread of infection.
  • Ensure that cleaning equipment, e.g. polishing and scrubbing machines, mops, brooms, buckets etc. are clean after usage and securely stored.
  • Assist with the loading and offloading of stock.
  • Ensure cost effective use of cleaning material.
  • Disposable of medical and other waste.
  • General cleaning according to infection control, which includes sweeping, mopping of floors, dusting, polishing of floors and furniture, emptying and cleaning of dust bins, cleaning of windows, light shades and walls, sluices and drains.
